The talk Spacing Publi[c]2ity problematises briefly the idea
of public in relation to architecture. The problematisation
is conducted with a particular reference to two main
discursive aspects of: ‘spacing public’ and ‘public and
city’. In the talk, broad theoretical perspectives on the
idea of public will be highlighted in order to open up fresh
insights on the relationship between public, society, and
state. The talk also covers some general speculations
about the potential adoption of public idea to be
adapted within today’s contemporary architectural
design thinking.
