UPM’s Master of Landscape Architecture programme is well established since 1996 and it is also the only MLA programme that is accredited by the Institute of Landscape Architects, Malaysia (ILAM). The MLA programme in UPM is taught by qualified and experienced lecturers from the faculty as well as associate professionals from well established landscape architectural firms within and outside the Klang Valley.   Master of Architecture is a 65 credit hours postgraduate programme by coursework. It is a professional degree programme equivalent to the professional qualification of the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) Part II. The programme is a continuation of the LAM Part I qualification, which is currently being addressed in the Bachelor of Science in Architecture programme at UPM.   

 

The Master of Tropical Urban Design (MTUD) is a three-semester program that is designed to provide advance coursework with an emphasis on the tropical and subtropical regions. The program has a strong foundation in ecological, social and economic sustainability as a basis for planning and design. It also emphasizes skills in communication and collaboration with local communities and professional groups. The program employs a combination of studio, lectures, tutorials and regional and local trips.

Master in Construction Technology Management

The Master of Sustainable Landscape Management (MSLM) is a cross-disciplined in nature with emphasis on landscape sustainability, technology and human well-being reflected in the current national and international thinking. Its aim to equip students with the theoretical, technical, professional skills and knowledge in sustainable landscape management and maintenance, landscape ecology, environmental technology, law, risk management and economy   Master in Industrial Design Innovation (MIDI) programme aims to produce competent graduates equivalent to Professional Designers with relevant knowledge and great analytical skills which include critical thinking and problem solving skill. All these can be applied through design thinking with the concurrent innovative and creative advance process in research and management. Students are expected to be able to engage with experts from across disciplines during the new product development (NPD) process.  

 

The MCTEM program is a 12-month coursework master program with dissertation, that prepares building professionals in agile integrated project delivery (IPD) environment. IPD covers the entire lifecycle process from pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases involving collocated and non-collocated communications. The program exposes students towards BIM culture and using Value Management for decision-making and information management.The MCTEM program is intended for built environment professional, professional practice manager, design-built professional, construction company manager, construction project manager, building and technologies supplier for the construction industry.Interested? Master of Science (by research) students will be supervised by a supervisory committee comprising experts in the field of study chosen by students. Faculty of Design and Architecture has many academic staff with PhD qualifications and experience in supervising Master's students. The Faculty also has its own library shared with Faculty of Engineering (Engineering  and Architecture Library). Universiti Putra Malaysia also offers limited financial assistance under the supervision of the School of Graduate Studies, UPM.
