Synopsis
This group aims to carry out research and consultancy to understand how our neighbourhood, site and building can be planned, designed, constructed, operated and maintained to reduce adverse impacts on the environment and human health and wellbeing, while at the same time promoting widespread economic and social progress. The group has a profile in the field of sustainable building design, building performance monitoring, post-occupancy evaluation, and low-carbon retrofitting. Specific activities include monitoring, evaluating, simulating and designing sustainable performance of buildings i.e. indoor air quality, energy, water, lighting (natural and artificial), thermal comfort and economic performance.
