Built Environment Informatics

Group Leader :Prof. Dr. Hjh Rahinah Ibrahim

Synopsis :

Sustainable Design Informatics is a design discipline combining design concepts and practices with information technology (IT)—or informatics—for achieving sustainable living. Sustainable Design Informatics focuses on the arts and sciences of design relating to collection, creation, storage, retrieval, processing, display and dissemination of knowledge throughout the designed product development lifecycle impacted by information technology. It is a trans-disciplinary field in design covering the development lifecycle of innovative solutions using indigenous resources while addressing socio-cultural needs that meet economical aims. Research targets content, methods, technologies and systems; and developing tools, techniques and applications specific and practical for cradle-to-cradle product innovation.
