UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA (UPM) ATTENDED THE 5TH
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ARCHITECTURAL AND CIVIL
ENGINEERING SCIENCES: ICAC25 AND SIGNED MOU WITH CIHAN
UNIVERSITY-ERBIL, IRAQ

IRAQ, 27 TH February 2025 - The Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) delegation led by the
Dean of the Faculty of Design and Architecture Ts. Gs. Dr. Mohd Johari Mohd Yusof and
several of the faculty academic staff have met Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi,
President of Cihan University-Erbil and a number of Cihan University Representatives in
the Presidency Office of Cihan University-Erbil, Iraq.

 

Both parties discussed the appropriate means of developing scientific relations and
collaborations between the two universities to benefit from expertise and exchange
information in various specializations and fields. They also discussed the potential
collaboration that will include research and innovation, exchange and sharing of
scholars and resources, arrange different lectures jointly by students and faculty,
exchange of students and lecturers and other possibilities of collaboration.
UPM delegation expressed their thanks for the warm hospitality at Cihan University and
Kurdistan Region during the 5th International Conference on Architectural and Civil
Engineering Sciences: ICAC25) held by Cihan University in collaboration with Universiti
Putra Malaysia. UPM academic staff have participated in the ICAC205 as keynote
speakers and researchers.

A signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held in a special
ceremony with the presence of both the UPM delegation and the President's office and
academic members of Cihan University. As stated in the joint agreement, the two
universities will cooperate in holding international conferences and exchanging
students, and many important points related to scientific matters that serve the two
universities.

After concluding the agreement, the two parties exchanged souvenirs; Prof. Dr Amjad
Saber Al-Delawi presented the shield of Cihan University-Erbil to Ts. Gs. Dr. Mohd
Johari Mohd Yusof, Head of the delegation of UPM.
