Studio Talk by The Pentago Group

Serdang, 29 April 2024 – The Urban Design Studio of the Landscape Architecture Department held a Studio Talk titled Urban Design in Landscape Architecture by LAr. Wendy Khaw and Greg Dall from The Pentago Group. Greg Dall is both the Managing Director and one of the founding members of the Pentago Group of Companies. He is originally from Australia but considers Malaysia his home after living in Malaysia since 1980—meanwhile, LAr. Wendy Khaw is the Principal Director and founding member, sharing time between the Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne offices.

The main objective of this talk was to expose students to current issues concerning urban design discussed by professionals working in the field and to inform them about what to expect once they have graduated. In addition, they shared their valuable experiences from major projects in Kuala Lumpur, such as the TRX City Park, which reflects innovative urban design, the 118 Merdeka Tower, and the adaptive reuse projects in Kampung Attap. These projects demonstrate the transformative power of thoughtful design.
